Todd Krause ist einer der ganz großen Namen im Fender Custom Shop, hat er doch wie kaum ein anderer Masterbuilder exquisite Instrumente für die ganz großen Namen der Musikszene wie Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, David Gilmour, Robbie Robertson, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Robin Trower oder Roger Waters persönlich hergestellt.
Sein beruflicher Werdegang nahm seinen Anfang in den frühen 1980er Jahren beim legendären Superstrat-Hersteller Jackson/Charvel. Seit 1991 bei Fender erhielt er dann 1997 den Ritterschlag und wurde in den Olymp der Gitarrenbauer aufgenommen. Seit über 20 Jahren folgt er beim Bau seiner Einzelstücke seinem eigenen Motto, das den Musiker und sein Instrument in den Mittelpunkt rückt:
“It’s about the way an instrument sounds and feels. It has to look cool, and it has to compel you to play.”
Cool kommt die ’50s Hardtail Stratocaster’ in der einmaligen Farbe ‘British Racing Green’ im Alterungsgrad ‘Relic’ auf jeden Fall daher. Der kräftige, einteilige Hals aus extrem geflammtem Ahorn beeindruckt durch betörende Optik und noch bessere Haptik. Die Spielbarkeit ist mit unserem Setup trotz der Vintage-Spezifikationen ganz vorzüglich.
Erstklassig ist auch der Klang dieser resonanten und mit 3,1kg außerordentlich leichten Stratocaster, der perlende Läufe mit glasigen Höhen ebenso wie warmer Blues oder kreischender Rock mit großer Eleganz gelingen, drei handgewickelte ‘Fat 50s’-Singlecoils leisten hervorragende Arbeit. Auch wenn Strats ohne Tremolo nicht ganz so beliebt scheinen, ist der Klang dieser Hardtail-Strat gerade dadurch genial!
Der Zustand dieser aus 2009 stammenden Masterbuilt ist insgesamt hervorragend, die Spuren der Alterung sind gewollt und kunstvoll ausgeführt.
Die Auslieferung dieser wunderbaren Stratocaster erfolgt im originalen Fender Custom Shop Tweed Case mit Zertifikat, Luxus-Gitarrengurt, Reinigungstuch und Herstellerpapieren .
